RS SafeTrx 2022.1

The RS SafeTrx app, officially developed by Redningsselskapet (RS), serves as a vital tool for vessel registration and journey planning, accessible conveniently via smartphone.

Upon initiating the app, users will follow a straightforward registration process. After saving their registration details, they can navigate the app's menu to select either the Sail Plan mode for journey filing or the Track Only mode for basic tracking functionality.

In Sail Plan mode, users can specify their vessel, calculate the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), and input essential details such as the number of persons aboard and the planned activity type. Utilizing the integrated maps, users can then pinpoint a starting location, manage optional waypoints, and designate a final destination. When ready to embark, simply press the 'start' button to officially record the trip.

Selecting 'start' in Sail Plan mode or activating tracking in Track Only mode will register the journey details with RS's server and enable continuous position reporting. The app will transmit position reports at regular intervals, automatically alerting emergency contacts if travel time exceeds the ETA specified in Sail Plan mode.

Throughout the trip, users retain the flexibility to terminate their journey or reassess critical information such as ETA, passenger count, and destination.

The SafeTrx app offers several essential features:

• Initiate an Emergency or Assistance call.
• Enhance maritime trip planning with a personalized checklist as part of your Sail Plan.
• Maintain a Mobile Logbook of up to 20 trips and replay them in video playback mode.
• Utilize the ‘Explorer’ tool for nearby port information, VHF channels, and lifeboat station data.
• Track live locations of RS rescue vessels through the RS lifeboat location tracker map feature.
• Receive maritime safety alerts and notices directly from RS via the app and SMS notifications.
• Access maritime safety information both online and offline.
• Manage your profile, vessel details, checklist, and emergency contacts within the app.

Users should be mindful that continued GPS operation running in the background may significantly deplete battery life.
